Baxter is so fortunate to have two great grandmas (and one great grandpa, I will have to post on him later). These photos were taken at my shower, and it was actually the first time my grandma Jeanne was able to hold him. Moments like these are so special, and I am happy to have it on camera!

Baby Shower
Baxter's shower on April 18th was so wonderful. I am so lucky to have such amazing friends. Everything was so cute, and the food was so tasty! These are just a few photos from my moms camera.
Patty and the diaper cake. I plan on NEVER using any of those diapers. Too cute to take apart :)
Adorable quilt from the Horvath ladies.
Aunt Sue and Nana trying to make sense of some toy.

Grandpa John the Family Photographer
Easter 2009
I know, I'm a little behind. I just thought I would take a moment to post about Easter while Mr. wonderful is napping. We had a very busy Easter, but the only photos I have are from my parents house. We were lucky enough to spend the day with my parents, my brother and my grandma Daphne. It was a beautiful day, and we had a lovely lunch.
Baxter loves his great-grandma. They could hang out with each other all day if it was up to them!
Baxter and his daddy watching golf.
notice the outfit change.....we had a bit of a "blow-out" during lunch. Uncle Jim could have done without that interruption :)
Bax and grandpa Dan. I think he looks like a little Cupie doll in this photo. They were just chillin, and he was giving grandpa some big smiles. My mom and I were near by with our hearts melting.
Since there were no pics of Jim and Baxter I decided to add this older picture. I think it is so cute.

Late night photo session
We spend lots of time together at night, one activity he seems to enjoy is camera time. He really knows how to strike a pose.
This was taken after we got home from dinner last night (friday night Chilis with the Middagh clan). I thought he looked so cuddly cute in his little outfit.
I think we may have an international super-model on our hands :)

6 weeks old!
Yesterday was a big day. Baby Baxter is now six weeks old! Time flies. It is so hard for me to believe that this little guy has been with us for six whole weeks. We celebrated by going to costco with grandma Pam. He seems to enjoy Costco, but I think he is really just behaving so he can snag those free samples. Mini quiche seem to be his favorite :) So far Baxter has hit these milestones....
Holding head up (day one)
Smiling (three weeks old)
Rolling from his tummy to back (five weeks)
Rolling from back to tummy (five and a half weeks)
Of course we are convinced he is the next boy wonder. I find that I am actually excited when it is time to wake him up. He looks like a grumpy old man, and I typically wind up laughing at his silly grimaces. He loves "talking" and will tell stories for days. He is such a love. This picture was taken this morning after I got out of the shower. He loves his bouncy seat and is very entertained by the smooth vibrations and calming water sounds.

We are NOT crazy cat people
Anyone who knows me, knows I am a lover of animals. I even refused to see the movie "Marley and Me" because I knew that inevitably, Marley would die at the end (spoiler alert!). I have always had wonderful and sometimes strange (Dottie....RIP) dogs growing up. I liked cats, but my brother is very allergic, so we never had any as kids. While living at my first apartment in Long Beach, I was found by my first cat Pumpkin. She was quite the damsel in distress, and I had NO choice but to save her. She is a bit of a social recluse, but she loves me with all her little kitty heart. Tarzan came along a year later, due to the fact I was convinced that Pumpkin wanted a friend ( I think I may have been wrong on that one). Tarzan is very sweet, but has some little kitty behaviors that are not exactly perfect. Derek shares similar stories in how he ended up with his two cats, Stinky and Titus. Both of his boys are very well behaved, and don't have any "issues" like mine do. When we found out we were expecting, one very common question we got was "what about the cats?". Derek and I took on the attitude that if there were any problems regarding cats vs. baby we would deal with it then. Well, I am happy to report that there have been no problems at all. Neither cat or baby seem to really notice the other. Yipee! Here is some proof......

Introductions.....
Okay, here goes nothing. I want to start off with a disclaimer; I am not much of a creative writer. I plan on blogging stuff as it is. Thankfully now I have a baby that I can use to my advantage to make my posts seem much more thrilling. I also don't plan on being all to concerned with grammar and punctuation. Anyhow......I imagine I (liz) will be the primary care taker of this blog, so unless otherwise stated, I will be the one making the posts. Derek (my husband) is very busy working his butt off (and his clients, he is a personal trainer). He is a good daddy, and Baxter loves every minute they get to spend together. I am currently a stay at home mom. wow. That is wild to actually say. So far so good. If Baxter could talk, he would only have positive things to say about my skills as a mother. Im going to end this first post with some pictures of the fam. Enjoy!
